Hey everyone! This video has been a bit of a pain for me over these last two days. With all the clips I took put together, I originally had 10GB of files, and over 18 miuntes of recordings. I then shrunk it down to 9:59, but my computer couldnt compress it. So this is the final result, 2 minutes shorter than what I planned, but still full of action. This video features some insane blowovers and crashes. You can also see that I have made my own reflections pack for day and night tracks, but they are not up for download yet. The reflections at the night tracks actually have reflections of Sunsets, it is not just an edit in the movie. It still needs some work, because I think at some tracks, it may be glaring too much on the cars. Ah, the REVENGE part of the movie. lol. I was participating in a Paradise Racing League on Friday night, and the 07 and I were argueing most of the night, but no harm no foul. On lap 54, the 18 decided to stop under caution, and I run into the back of him (im the 25), and then it is chaos from there. The 07 decides to take the opportunity to not only aim at me once, but twice. I had said to the guys that if I ever get back to him, I would put him in the fence. Then, on lap 56, under the same caution, the 07 comes flying through 4 wide at 80MPH (pace speed was 30mph), and pulls right up beside me when he wasnt even supposed to be there. NASCAR Racing 1, the first of the successful Papyrus NASCAR franchise, came out in 1994, and was pretty much the first NASCAR game released that was worth writing home about, especially compared to other gems such as Bill Elliott’s NASCAR Challenge (featured in another video), Days of Thunder, and Richard Petty’s Talladega. For starters, there was a legitimate field of cars - 38 opponents, compared to 11 in one, and who knows how much in the others. The tracks were actually resembled their real-life counterparts - such as Talladega, the track we look at here (although, notably, the track is actually way off - check out how tight the tri-oval is!). We run a few laps at Talladega, featuring the (sometimes) profane commentary of myself (I’m trying to cut down, I swear) as I run up through the field. As you will hear, I am no Ken Squier. In addition, I will also talk (inaccurately, I’m sure) about some of the issues that sim-racers faced in the days of NASCAR 1 and its immediate successors, such as the lack of a certain track in northeast Florida, and what modders did to get around that. I’m sure I missed the boat by miles on that, but hopefully I covered it somewhat accurately. I’m still hoping for an NR2003 edition of Alex Santantonio’s USA International Speedway, which was a Daytona substitute. I also apologize for the sudden (and profane) end to the clip. This is a video I have edited, cut, copied and pasted together just the right way to sumerize one of my favorite non-league races I have ever been in online. I was able to use the in-game replay editor for the entire video. Fraps to accually get it into an avi file and Sony Vegas to compress it. The #16 car is a good friend and was my teammate who pushed me to the front at the end and kept me up there to win the race in my #2 car.
