Comparing NASCAR to other driving tournaments
To compare NASCAR to other world cup series is like comparing an obsessive-compulsive person to a highly agitated, overly sensitive messed up individual. Though the better term to use would be organized if given the chance to choose to describe NASCAR. Not that I’m saying other racing competitions aren’t but NASCAR is refined.
I could finish this article right this very moment without even emphasizing how refined NASCAR is compared to other tournaments. Surely, other motor sports don’t paint the name of their sponsors on the hood of their best drivers cars and spoilers nor wear outfits that have prints of every single name of every single sponsor they are advertising. Minus the twists and turns and the “Oh my God, is he gonna live?”, kind of statements. Adrenaline rush? Yes. Heart attack? Definitely not.
NASCAR races primarily take place on oval tracks consisting of about three to four runarounds with all wheels steering to the left. These oval paths can be categorized as a short track which would run for about a mile or so, intermediate or more often called speedways accelerating from one to two miles and last would be the super speedway which is more than 2 miles. If you’re thinking, What about those tracks escalading with left and right edges? They’re called Road courses.
According to recent data, Sprint now has 36-point races overlooking 34 oval tracks and two road courses.
So, how different are races with NASCAR compared to the rest? Well, imagine the roughness and sharpness of Rally’s landscapes or how complicated it is to reach the finish line with Formula Ones twisted courses? One that could be life threatening to both the racers life and the sponsors lunch money. Traumatic.
Racers. Big boys who step on it. NASCAR has produced the best of the best when it comes to drivers. A lot of significant racers from other racing series failed to reach the top 10 within NASCAR’s list. Say for example V8 Superstar champion Marcos Ambrose. He wasn’t able to win a competition in the Truck series or in the Busch series.
Undying criticisms rain on NASCAR’s reputation. Coming from sources left and right, it is noted how different modern NASCAR cars are than the authentic stock cars. While some questioned the importance of its existence, some are targeting on its environmental effects. Comparison to others? Mutual.
