A twist of NASCAR history
A twist of NASCAR history
Here’s some twisted news on how NASCAR ended up being the top racing phenomena in the United States.
From as early as 10,000 BC, man created a mean machine by winding ropes and stones streaming down the long end of a log or wood. Like Fred Flinstone manipulating a dinosaur to do all the work and going home on his foot-carried vehicle.
From the pre-historic time of 1949, NASCAR introduced the strictly stock division which means strict business for those race car drivers who had their share of being on the road every waking day. Until Albert paved the way by inventing the very first dirt proof soil for the kids to race on. It really meant big this time for NASCAR.
William France wasn’t kidding when he said to himself that he was going to make the sponsors pay big time to see their cars on the road. Money went rolling.
Every driver wannabe raced like there’s no tomorrow proving their worth. But not everyone made the mark. Only a few. The Chase was on for these road freaks.
The faster a person goes, the higher the purse, the bigger the chance of failing or winning. Since 7 million cars will be racing at the same time on the oval race track, with a width of 2 meters, NASCAR promoted a do or die game for the biggest series, Sprint Cup. Minus the cursing, minus the hitting and minus the extra-curricular unwanted actions, a racer would hit low on the scores if he did all these with one blow. A competition with no rules is no competition at all.
A whole celebration trembled NASCAR as the manufacturers spent millions on almost everything related to NASCAR. Is it all worth your money? The story gets even better when Bill Gates incorporated the latest space shuttle technology on racing cars costing the company a whooping $799 million per crew. Never knew that the Microsoft icon was a fan of race cars, did you?
Mind blowing write-ups also stated that a business like NASCAR would precipitate in making the France family a tycoon. Watching a .00001 millisecond race would make the Flash cry in shame. Same reason as why television sets have rewind to catch what they failed to see at that split of time. Thinking of joining the club? Do it fast.
