Will Northern California ever have a Super Speedway to host Nascar?

For a while, I heard that there was talk about a Super Speedway to be built North of Sacramento and before Yuba City/ Marysville area, to host Nascar Sprint Cup races. It could have been just a rumor, but I was just curious if anyone else heard the same. Does anyone else have any insight on this? Or was it just a rumor.

they have the infineon raceway….its pretty much in northern california…..

With California Speedway in Fontana and a road course in Sears Point already, it's doubtful Nascar would be interested in yet aother event in California. With the current decline in ticket sales and tv viewers, I believe building a new track almost anywhere would be a tough sell. If the New York City city area can't make it happen, how much of a chance does any other area have?

NASCAR has 36 races now with only two weeks off during the season from Feb. 17- Nov. 16. It is highly unlikely that they would come back to Northern California to race unless the Sears Point race were taken off the schedule. I hear rumors about new tracks all the time, but I haven't heard this one in several years now.

Don't look for it in the near future. With the number of tracks today and the overloaded schedule the addition of anothere speedway on the west coast may not be practical.

Truthfully, I don't think NASCAR wants/needs another superspeedway on the schedule. I've seen a lot of people say on here that we need one, but I think 4 races a year are enough on the SS.

You have infineon raceway up there its a road course in Sonoma..We couldn't sell out Ontario when it was out here, and We can't get no where near get a sell out in Fontana, so I doubt there'd ever be a Nascar Super Speedway in Northern Calif.. Maybe the Northern Calif people would go to race, but the people down here in So Calif just have to much else to do, I probably have 40-60 regular Nascar friends, do they go to the track…."NO" they'll watch it on TV or go to race viewing parties..Only 4 of us are going to Fontana (in the rain) this weekend…But atleast Northern Calif, you'd bring in the Oregon and Washington people who want a track.. I did hear a rumor one time, but have not heard anything else about a track in No Calif..

i think that if nascar decides to build another track on the west coast it will be in the northwest.. not a 3rd track in califonia, 2 is enough
