Leo Parente and Matt Farah return to the Classic Car Club in lower Manhattan to discuss the state of the racing world including Formula 1, NASCAR, ALMS, and Grand-Am. There’s no doubt that the global economic downturn is taking a toll on the automotive manufacturers, but what about the the racing world? - Garage419

f1 has something called a right turn.
September 10th, 2009 at 6:33 am
Nd yea so does NASCAR wen u turn into victory lane bot no fucking podium shit!!!! And yea we do at the road courses
September 15th, 2009 at 1:36 am
Yeah cause it takes SO much skill to monitor your speed on pit lane! Nascar sucks.
You have so much to learn it is not even funny! Listen to the guy in the vid, he knows what he is talking about.
F1= “Pinnacle of racing”, PERIOD END OF STORY
Nascar= Rednecks favorite past-time.
LOL when he laughed at Nascar!

True racing is not driving circles at top speed.
F1 they have to race a line, hit the right braking points, hit the apex* everytime, and hit the gas at the right time; and thats just to do one lap. Imagine how hard it is to WIN a race!
(For Nascar Fans)
*Apex = The apex is often but not always, the geometric center of the turn. Hitting the apex allows the vehicle to take the straightest line and maintain the highest speed through that specific corner.

Well said! +1!

NASCAR should change its name to ZzZzZz
September 19th, 2009 at 8:43 pm
Nascar is pointless no matter how difficult it is to drive those ton and a half korn flakes boxes.
September 19th, 2009 at 11:55 pm
ahahahha NASCAR=REDNECK!

nascar = boring
October 5th, 2009 at 4:07 am
Only racing series I find boring is F1, let the parade begin
I’m a NASCAR guy, always liked having competition between people instead of tech. Sports car racing does is interesting though, like the guy in the video said, it’s relatable.
Though I love the elitest F1 fans here. Calling NASCAR fans retarded rednecks with the only justification being that NASCAR races ovals. Try thinking (seems to be hard here) about why they do that. It’s so you can see the whole race when you go in person.

oh, just because I know some idiot is going to call me out on it, the “does is” is just a typo. I’m quite aware that’s not proper english

Nascar died when they stopped racing “stock” cars. Racing is as much about which manufacture makes the fastest car. The driver test is secondary. That’s why F1 is also boring. Sports car type racing is where it’s at. But the TV coverage is terrible. With the announcers covering mostly the top class and concentrating on the drivers instead of the battle between the different manufactures. It also isn’t televised often. Except on cable.

they cars cant get close enough to eachother?????have u seen a race recently they get within inches of eacother and yes this happens before the body desing changes before the 2009 season
October 10th, 2009 at 12:15 am
thats why only the most elite drivers in the world can race them.try to put dale earnhart jr in a f-1 he would not even be able to start it without stalling the car because he cant shift it fast enough.

It’s a shame WTCC hasn’t expanded to the US at all. It’s great racing, lots of talented drivers, a lot of room for contact, the cars can actually take a beating and still perform, lots of passing too, and no deal on things like pit strategy.

only racing im into anymore is rally.. its never on tv anymore though, not on the channels it used to be anyways. disapointing too, so much more interesting then any other race.
100km/h sideways on a narrow dirt road just crazy.
my dad likes nascar, going around a circle 200 times just doesnt hold my interest .. guess thats why everyones so excited about wrecks, because thats the only thing worth watching lol

You fucking retards that think NASCAR is no skill.. HAHAHA, have you any idea hard it is to turn one of them cars? Especially at 200mph and 40 cars behind you. F1 takes skill to, you need TALENT for any motorsport you fucking tards, stfu with the arguments or go and DIE.
November 5th, 2009 at 2:35 pm
agreed,…but give kyle busch a week in a car & i think he would b ok….he has the attitude 4 it!…lmao!
November 14th, 2009 at 12:48 am
no one knows nascar
f1 simply the king of motorsports
November 27th, 2009 at 7:21 am
What a dramatic way to make a good point.
November 27th, 2009 at 7:45 am
The guy on the left is absolutely right about F1, hopefully passing does increase, that would be the cherry on top for me. I just wish they would stop trying to make it relevant to road cars so much, that’s what sports car racing is for. Make them the absolute fastest they can be, and you may see the most interesting racing. Remember the turbo era…?
November 29th, 2009 at 6:28 pm
maybe f1 of recent days is al little boring,
but remember turbo era , the 60’s ,..
nothing can top that

The appeal of Matt Farah is limited by the viewers lack of knowledge. He’s an okay guy but from what I’ve watched (Evo vs Sti), anyone with some sort of automotive or motorsport understanding need not watch his shows. He’s more of a introductory step in terms of breaking new people into racing.

anyone who thinks nascar, f1, sports car, touring car racing involves no skill is an asshole! the end.
